Fair trade concerns the purchase of products and materials made in developing countries for their fair value.  In doing so, a framework for improvement of the living conditions of producers and workers who are in a weak position in developing countries can be sustained.  Our project aims to assist in developing the tradition of this particular Indonesian textile business as well as to assist in the development of jobs for the women in the villages and to revitalize the poor rural areas through the promotion of fair trade.  The money that is gained in this process is put into training assistance and investment in equipment for village women interested in getting into the business of making Tenun Lurik.
